Quickly: Architecture Of India

By Daniel Perea

The architecture of India, is called the architecture of the Indian subcontinent from the third millennium BC until today. It is characterized by a great sense of design, evident both in its modern forms such as traditional. The typical construction material of the primitive architecture of India is the stone, richly carved in accordance with traditional Hindu style. This feature, coupled with the almost total absence of structured spaces, leads us to consider these works as sculptures rather than architectural. In its early brick buildings were built, in addition to various timber structures. Which were replaced by stone structures that still exist. Classic examples of ancient architecture of India are found burnt brick buildings in the cities of Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa (now Pakistan). Brihadeeswarar Temple, built by the Chola Empire during the eleventh and twelfth centuries.
